Louise graduated from Sydney University with a combined degree in Medicine and Psychology in 1991 before beginning her career as a rural doctor in Broken Hill and later in South Gippsland in Victoria. She ran a Well Women’s clinic in her community, and developed a strong interest in GP education. Louise has a long-standing interest in mental health, and coordinated the Masters of GP Psychiatry for Monash and Melbourne university in the 1990s. Since then, she has become heavily involved in GP education and has run a number of courses in GP mental health for local, rural and remote GPs. Louise’s interests include paediatrics, women’s health and counselling.
