Kath completed her medical training at Sydney University in 2001. Prior to this she was a research scientist, both in Sydney at St Vincent’s Hospital and with the Public Health Laboratory in London.  She then worked for 2 years with the Gene Therapy Research Unit at the Kids Hospital at Westmead prior to commencing her medical studies.
 

Based at Concord Hospital, Kath also worked in a number of rural settings including Cootamundra, Broken Hill, Darwin and the Aboriginal Medical Congress in Alice Springs. She returned to Westmead Kids Hospital in 2004 to advance her interest in paediatrics, completing her Diploma of Child Health in the process.
 

Kath first joined the team at IWGP in 2005 as a GP registrar and became a Fellow of the Royal Australian College of General Practitioners in June 2009. She is accredited for antenatal shared care at RPAH and Canterbury.
 

Kath enjoys playing hockey and has recently taken up tennis and a wee bit of running.  She works part-time at IWGP as she balances her full-time role as mother to her 2 beautiful little boys.
